The Ford Ranger Super Duty has a braked towing capacity of 4,500kg 166. Smart Hitch and Pro Trailer Backup AssistTM are standard to make hitching and manoeuvring trailers easier. Learn more about towing and carrying here.

The Ranger Super Duty carries up to 1,982kg payload and has a 4,500kg GVM 178. Onboard Scales 176, accessed through the 12-inch touchscreen, estimates payload weight as you load so you can stay within vehicle limits with confidence.

The Ranger Super Duty shares the Ranger platform but is heavily re-engineered for harder work. Key differences include GVM increases to 4,500 kg 178, towing capacity increases to 4,500kg 166, GCM increases to 8,000kg 178. The Ranger Super Duty also adds front and rear locking differentials, a 130L long-range fuel tank, eight-stud wheel hubs, 33" all-terrain tyres, reinforced chassis, heavy-duty axles and a fully sealed snorkel as standard.

The Ranger Super Duty is powered by a 3.0L turbo diesel V6, producing 154kW and 600Nm of torque. The engine includes calibration changes and an improved cooling system designed for sustained heavy loads, with auto stop-start deleted for work-duty reliability.

The Ranger Super Duty's 4,500kg braked towing capacity 166  and 8,000 kg GCM 178 make it capable of towing large caravans that exceed the limits of standard utes. Smart Hitch estimates trailer tongue weight as you connect, and Pro Trailer Backup AssistTM 28  takes the stress out of reversing. The 130L long-range fuel tank reduces the need to stop for fuel on longer trips.

The Ranger Super Duty is built for demanding off-road conditions. It has up to 299mm of ground clearance, 850mm water wading depth 165, front and rear locking differentials, rated recovery hooks, a fully sealed snorkel and 33" General Grabber All-Terrain tyres as standard.

Every new  Ranger Super Duty comes with Ford's standard 5-year/unlimited km warranty. For vehicles with a warranty start date on or after 1 September 2026, this can be extended to 7 years if every scheduled service is completed on time by an Authorised Ford Dealer.
