What Is a Vehicle Identification Plate?
A Vehicle Identification Plate (or Build Plate) is fixed to the vehicle at the place of manufacture, to include important vehicle information.
This includes; Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), Date of Manufacture (shown in Month and Year), and Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM). In some circumstances other information may be present.
