What is the Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor?

The Intelligent Oil Life Monitor (IOLM) system analyzes vehicle data to determine a recommended time to change the vehicle's engine oil.

Traditionally, vehicles follow a pre-set schedule for an oil change. But, due to differences in operating conditions, driving habits, and actual mileage, the oil change interval may vary. This often leads to wrongly-timed vehicle maintenance, which results in degraded vehicle performance and additional costs for owners.

The Oil Life button in the Ford app displays a percentage estimate of oil life remaining as well as options to contact your Dealer and/or request a service.

Note: This is not a standard feature for all vehicles and the following pre-conditions must be met:

• You must have a vehicle added to the Ford app.
• Your vehicle must support the IOLM feature within the instrument cluster.
