The Ford Ranger can tow up to 3,500kg 9 when properly equipped with a Genuine Ford tow pack, making it ideal for towing trailers, boats or caravans. The Ranger Raptor can tow up to 2,500kg 9. The tow pack is standard on XLT, Wolftrak, Tremor, Wildtrak, Platinum and Raptor, and available as an option on XL, XLS and Black Edition. The Ford Ranger offers a maximum payload of up to 1,412kg 10 depending on body style, grade and configuration. Payload is the combined weight of passengers, cargo, accessories and tow ball download. Payload decreases as kerb weight increases on higher-specification pick-up variants. Use the Towing and Payload Calculator to confirm the limit for your exact setup.

The Ford Ranger is available with two turbo-diesel engines, a Plug-in Hybrid and a petrol option on Raptor. The 2.0L turbo diesel produces 125kW and 405Nm. The 3.0L V6 turbo-diesel produces 184kW and 600Nm and is now available from XL 4x4 grade. Both diesels pair with a 10-speed automatic. The Ranger Hybrid combines a 2.3L EcoBoost petrol engine with a 75kW electric motor for 207kW and 697Nm combined. The Ranger Raptor uses a separate 3.0L twin-turbo V6 petrol engine producing 292kW.

Ford Ranger fuel consumption varies by engine and grade. The 2.0L turbo diesel is the more fuel-efficient diesel option. The 3.0L V6 turbo-diesel uses more fuel but delivers significantly more power and torque. The Ranger Hybrid returns 2.9L/100km combined 15, the lowest in the range. Ford Ranger dimensions vary by body style and grade. The most common configuration, the 4x4 Double Cab Pick-Up, measures approximately 5,370mm in length, 1,918mm in width and 1,886mm in height with a 3,270mm wheelbase. The 2026 Ford Ranger lineup includes nine grades: XL, XLS, Black Edition, XLT, Wildtrak, Platinum, Wolftrak, Tremor and Raptor. All Ranger 4x4 models are capable off-road, but two grades are purpose-built for it. The Ranger Tremor adds Bilstein position-sensitive dampers, General Grabber AT3 all-terrain tyres, Rock Crawl drive mode 12, Trail Control, Trail Turn Assist and 261mm of ground clearance. The Ranger Raptor goes further still, with FOX Live Valve suspension, seven drive modes including Baja and Rock Crawl 12, 272mm ground clearance and BF Goodrich K02 all-terrain tyres.

As Australia's best-selling vehicle three years running 8, the Ford Ranger is a choice a lot of families have already made. The dual-cab seats five adults with genuine rear legroom.
