The Right Insurance

It’s your insurer’s job to keep costs down. So when aftermarket, salvage or remanufactured parts are available, they may tell the body shop to use these cheaper parts instead of new Ford parts. But aftermarket or damaged parts can cause issues with fit, finish, quality and durability.
Make sure your insurance policy guarantees the use of New Genuine Ford parts and allows you to choose your preferred repairer.
If your current insurer doesn’t offer Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts coverage, shop around and you may be able to find another insurer that does.
Be sure to compare Ford branded insurance for their guarantee of new genuine parts.

Not All Parts Are Created Equal

When you use Ford Original Collision Parts, you can be sure they fit your vehicle perfectly and provide long-lasting reliability.

  • Every new part goes through rigorous testing to meet the highest governmental safety standards before being placed in a Ford Motor Company vehicle. These parts are tested to work with the vehicle as a system.

  • Newer model vehicles use high-strength sheet metals, such as military-grade aluminum.
  • High-strength, military-grade aluminum manufactured by Ford should not be repaired by just anyone. Ensure you choose an aluminum-capable collision shop if your vehicle has aluminium parts/panels.
  • After a repair, look at where the panels meet.  Large or inconsistent gaps may indicate poor repair work or that a non-genuine part is fitted.
