How do I perform a SYNC Master/Factory Reset?
Note: A SYNC master/factory reset erases all stored data. This includes FordPass Connect modem activation, vehicle authorisations, call history, text messages, previously paired devices and navigation favourites.
If you want to remove authorised users only, visit the Remove Authorsed Users topic.
Select your in-vehicle screen for the appropriate steps.
SYNC 3
- Access your vehicle.
- Ensure that your vehicle is on, running, and in park.
- Select Settings from the bottom panel of your vehicle screen.
- Tap General.
- Scroll down and select Reset.
- Tap Master/Factory Reset.
Notes:
- A message will appear advising of the settings that will be removed during the reset.
- Select Continue to complete the reset.
- Select Cancel to void your request.
- All previously authorized users will receive a Vehicle Access Removed notification in their FordPass App account and will no longer be able to access the vehicle.
- Should you wish to re-activate your vehicle, visit the FordPass Modem Activation topic.
SYNC 4
- Access your vehicle.
- Ensure that your vehicle is on, running, and in park.
- Select Settings from the bottom panel of your vehicle screen.
- Tap General.

- Tap Factory Reset.

- Access your vehicle.
- Ensure that your vehicle is on, running, and in park.
- Tap the Vehicle button.
- Select the Settings tab.
- Scroll down and select Reset.
- Tap Factory Reset.

*Don’t drive while distracted. Use voice-operated systems when possible; don’t use handheld devices while driving. Some features may be locked out while the vehicle is in gear. Not all features are compatible with all phones.
