What Ford wireless vehicle software updates are available for 2022MY Ranger, Ranger Raptor and Everest vehicles?

From April 2024, Ford Australia will release vehicle software updates delivered wirelessly/over-the-air (OTA) to enhance the SYNC 4A infotainment systems of MY2022 Ranger, Ranger Raptor and Everest vehicles. The progressive SYNC software enhancements will bring these vehicle’s infotainment in line with the current models selling in our dealerships now.

These software updates will occur progressively, so you won’t get them all at once. By switching ‘Automatic Updates’ ON in your vehicle, these updates will download and install to your vehicle seamlessly in the background while you are driving, with no further action required.   1. Automatic Updates will be switched from ON to OFF

    2022MY Ranger, Ranger Raptor and Everest vehicles were delivered with Automatic Updates switched ON, Ford recommends this setting, but also recognises that some owners may prefer Automatic Updates be set to OFF, so that they are informed of, and can choose to accept a software update. As a part of this software update, the default setting for Automatic Updates will be switched from ON to OFF.

  2. SYNC Screen Changes

    You may notice that things look a little different on your vehicles’ SYNC screen after this software update. That’s because Ford has just unveiled a new, modern design that will make it simple to find your favourite settings and controls and return to the home screen. These include:

  • Settings and Controls – Consolidated so you can easily access drive modes or software updates details.
  • Digital Owner’s Manual – We’ve listened to your feedback and refined your Digital Owner’s Manual to show content that is relevant to your vehicle.
  1. New feature: Dual Bluetooth phones

    These software updates will enable owners to connect two mobile phones to SYNC simultaneously: be that a work and a personal phone, or a driver and a passenger phone. SYNC will show incoming calls to both devices, and users can make outgoing calls using either device.
