What are driver assist features?
Your vehicle may be equipped with driver assist features such as:
Traffic/Speed Sign Recognition
Detects speed limit signs to inform you of the current speed limit. Detected speed signs appear in the instrument cluster display.
Intelligent Speed Assist
It allows you to limit the vehicle's speed to the maximum speed limit detected by the speed sign recognition system.
Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control
Combines speed sign recognition and navigation map data with adaptive cruise control to adjust the cruise set speed to the speed limit detected by the speed sign recognition system. As the system detects new speed signs, the set speed updates.
SYNC 4 Equipped Vehicles
If you use the driver assist features mentioned above, we recommend that you keep map data updated by fully activating the vehicle’s FordPass Connect modem and enabling Connected Built-In Navigation.
Important: Your vehicle uses a camera to detect speed signs. However, in some circumstances, including (but not limited to) unreadable speed signs due to obstructions or poor condition of the sign, prevailing severe weather, or travelling a certain distance without encountering a speed sign, the features may refer to the speed limit defined in the vehicle’s stored navigation map data. These Driver Assist features will still operate, but over time, the map data may become inaccurate or out of date, which may impact feature reliability.
For more information about these Driver Assist features and their operation, please refer to your Owner’s Manual.
