Does the Ford Ranger or Everest need a Weight Distribution Hitch?

The Ford Ranger and Ford Everest were engineered to tow up to their maximum towing capacities without the need of a Weight Distribution Hitch. For more information on finding your vehicle’s towing capacity click here.

Ford does not manufacture or sell weight distribution hitches, however, aftermarket suppliers may have these available. It is important to note that Ford vehicle product development is conducted utilising only the Ford genuine or Ford licensed accessory towbar and hitch receiver.  

The fitment of an aftermarket weight distribution hitch may impact the vehicle durability or tow related attributes such as ride and handling or electronic stability control.

Ford recommends using only the approved Ford genuine towbar and hitch or Ford licensed accessory towbar and hitch.
