What is Wireless Charging?
With compatible smartphones, wireless charging (where available), makes it easy to ensure your devices are always ready to use.

Place the device within the area shown in the image above and with the charging side down to begin charging. The charging stops after your device reaches a full charge.
Note:
- Placing the device outside the area shown could affect the charging process.
- Charging time and temperature are dependent on the device used. The system stops charging the device if it reaches a high temperature.
How does it work?
The wireless charging feature works using currents that move through the wireless charger and the phone. The wireless charger has a transmitter coil, and the phone has a receiver coil. When they come together, it creates a magnetic field that the phone receiver picks up to begin the charging process.
- Make sure the charging area is clean and free from obstruction before charging a device and allow the device to lay flat on the charging area.
- Do not place items with a magnetic strip, for example passports, parking tickets or credit cards near the charging area when charging a device. This could damage the magnetic strip.
- Do not place metal objects, for example remote controls, coins or keys on or near the charging area when charging a device. Metal objects may heat up and degrade the charging performance.
- Although some phones have the capability to stream audio via Bluetooth, devices that do not currently support streaming will have to connect to SYNC via USB cable (which accomplishes charging without the need for a wireless charger).
