How do I start my vehicle if the key battery is flat?
If the passive vehicle key is inoperative because of a flat key battery or a fault, the vehicle can be started as follows:
- Place your key in the position indicated in your Owner's Manual. This is usually in the centre console or by the steering column.
- On vehicles with an automatic transmission, make sure that the transmission is in P (Park) or N (Neutral) and the brake pedal is fully depressed.
- On vehicles with a manual transmission, make sure that the clutch pedal is fully depressed.
- Press the start button until the engine starts.
