How do I troubleshoot my Apple Watch to use FordPass®*?
If you experience issues when using your Apple® Watch with FordPass use the troubleshooting tips below.
Before troubleshooting, ensure the following requirements are met:
- Your FordPass® Connect vehicle is added to FordPass.
- Your vehicle modem is activated.
- Your Apple Watch is paired with your Smartphone.
- Airplane Mode is off on all devices.
- Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi are enabled on all devices.
Apple Watch Troubleshooting Steps
Known Apple Watch Issues
- You may experience intermittent animation freezes while using FordPass on your smartwatch. Use the following steps to resolve:
- Force close the FordPass App.
- Reopen FordPass.
- After idling for a long period of time, your smartwatch's Wi-Fi connection can weaken, and FordPass may fail to connect with your watch. This causes a spinning animation on your watch. Take one of the following steps to resolve this issue:
- Option One:
- Force close FordPass.
- Reopen FordPass.
- Option Two: Wait about five minutes and retry using FordPass. The connection should recover by then.
- Option One:
- After using Remote Commands, if you background FordPass and reopen it within two minutes, you may see spinning animations over your commands that do not clear. Take one of the following steps to resolve this issue:
- Option One:
- Force close FordPass.
- Reopen FordPass.
- Option Two: Wait about five minutes to retry using FordPass.

- If you log out of your phone app, you may see intermittent spinning animations on your watch. To resolve this, log in again on your phone.
How to Force Quit an App on Your Apple Watch
- Open the app, and keep it in the foreground of your smartwatch.
- Press and hold the Power Button. Release once the Power Off and SOS screen displays.
- Long press on the Crown. Release when the app closes.
Restart Your Apple Watch
- Press and hold the Power Button for 15 seconds, or until your watch shuts down.
- Wait a few seconds, then press the Power Button again to turn it on.
Uninstall Apps on Apple Watch
- Bring up the app screen.
- Lightly press and hold the app until it jiggles.
- Tap on X on the app.
- Confirm the selection by tapping Delete App.
- Press the Digital Crown again.
Install Apps on Apple Watch
- Bring up the app screen.
- Select the App Store.
- Tap Search to find apps. Search using either Dictate or Scribble.
- Select the app to view more information.
- To install, tap the app price or the Get button.
- When prompted, double-click the button under the Digital Crown to download.
