What is Reverse Brake Assist?
Reverse Brake Assist is a feature that is part of Ford's driver assistance technology. Reverse Brake Assist functions when the vehicle is in reverse (R) and travelling at low speeds.
It will automatically apply the brakes for a short period of time when the moving vehicle detects (using the parking sensors) it is about to impact another vehicle, object, or person. It will then notify the driver to take action by applying the brakes and displaying a message and warning indicator on the instrument display. Drivers can override the feature by applying the accelerator or turning on/off under vehicle settings.
Note: When using Reverse Brake Assist, it is still important to pay attention to your surroundings.
