Why is my imported vehicle not working with the Ford app*?
The Ford app is specifically designed to work with vehicles supplied through its respective markets. As the vehicle's telematics control unit (TCU) modem has an embedded Subscriber Identity Moduel (SIM) that will only function properly in the respective market, it is not user accessible or replaceable. The Ford app will only work properly with vehicles imported through official channels in the Australia/New Zealand market.
Although your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) can be added, some features may function in a limited manner, as they rely on global backend systems.
Some features not supported in Grey Imports include the following:
- No image library
- No service history
- No Owner User Manual
- No local support video links
- Lack of modem and remote capable functionalities
- No warranty information is presented in the Ford app
