What is the Ford app, the vehicle's modem, and an activated vehicle?
The Ford app is an app that you can download on your smartphone.
When referring to a vehicle modem, it is a vehicle that has an embedded modem containing a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card. This is known as a “connected vehicle.” Like a smartphone, it is connected to the internet and is both able to send and receive certain data.
To make use of the modem in your vehicle, you need to download the Ford app and create an account. Link the two together (the Ford app and your vehicle's modem) to create an “activated vehicle.”
