Normal mode explained

Normal mode is intended for everyday driving, and it’s the mode your vehicle defaults to every time you turn it on. This mode is the perfect balance of excitement, comfort, and convenience. This is the default mode after each ignition cycle, the driveline settings remain the same as prior to the ignition cycle.

Four-wheel drive auto (4A) is the default four-wheel drive mode. All four-wheel drive modes are selectable when in normal mode. The front and rear electronic locking differential are available below 40 km/h only when in four-wheel drive low (4L).

Note, if you’re driving off-road and have been using Baja mode, your Ranger Raptor will revert to Normal when it’s switched off and on again. That said, in this situation, upon starting the vehicle a pop-up will appear in the digital instrument cluster asking if you’d like to return to your last used drive mode. If you select no, your vehicle remains in normal mode and the default four-wheel driveline setting associated with that drive mode. If you do not select Yes or No the pop-up message times out, your vehicle remains in normal mode, and the four-wheel driveline setting remains in its last used setting.
