We rely on our smartphones for just about everything these days, and it’s important you're able to use it safely and responsibly in your vehicle. With SYNC® 4A, wireless Apple CarPlay™ and wireless Android Auto™ as standard, it makes it easy to do just that¹ .

Thanks to the wireless² versions of Apple CarPlay™³ and Android Auto™³ smartphone technology, connecting your compatible iPhone® or Android™ device is quick, easy, and cable-free. This feature lets you stow your phone out of sight, making it easier to stay focused on the road¹ . And with available wireless charging on some models² , you can enjoy an uncluttered cabin. Pairing your smartphone to SYNC® 4A is easy. First make sure Bluetooth® is enabled on your smartphone.

1. From the Home menu, press the phone icon on your vehicle’s SYNC® 4A screen 

2. Select Add Device on your vehicle's SYNC® 4A screen and follow the prompts

3. A prompt alerts you to search for your vehicle on your device.Select your vehicle on your device

4. A pop-up will appear on the SYNC® 4A screen with a passcode

5. Verify that the code on SYNC® 4A screen matches the code on your Android or Apple compatible phone

6. Your SYNC® 4A screen will indicate that you have successfully paired your device

When should I connect with a cable?

SYNC® 4A technology may require a USB connection for some Android devices. Supported wireless devices can be placed on the wireless charger.
