How to set up Emergency Assistance (SYNC® with Ford AppLink™)
If you're in an accident where airbags deploy or the fuel-pump shuts off, Emergency Assistance, once activated, uses your paired phone, which must be within mobile reception range, to call an emergency operator. Emergency Assistance is off by default, so you must change your settings to turn it on. Make sure your paired phone is connected.
- Press the MENU button
- Scroll and select SYNC Applications. Press OK
- Scroll and select Emergency Assistance. Press OK
- Scroll and Select ON. Press OK
Display options
- In the case where On is selected,Emergency Assistance On appears in the display as confirmation.
- In the case where Off is selected an option appears which allows you to set a voice reminder.
- Emergency Assistance Off Voice Reminder On provides a display and voice reminder when the cell phone connects and your vehicle starts.
- Emergency Assistance Off Voice Reminder Off provides a display reminder only without a voice reminder when the cell phone connects and your vehicle starts.
