Melbourne, 15 October, 2019 – Kelly Racing will compete in the 2020 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship using Ford Performance Mustang Supercars, partnering with Ford and Ford Performance to join Shell V-Power Racing and Tickford Racing Mustang teams on next year’s grid.

The partnership, which sees the number of Mustangs grow from six to eight next season, sees Kelly Racing compete in the championship-winning Mustang, which has enabled Ford to secure the 2019 Manufacturers’ title.

“We’re so glad to have Kelly Racing bringing two additional Mustang Supercars to the grid, giving our fans more great news on the back of a fantastic 2019 season so far,” said Kay Hart, President and CEO, Ford

Australia and New Zealand. “Having more Mustangs racing next season is a reflection of the team’s hard work and the success of the program so far.”

“As Kelly Racing complete its 11th season in Supercars, we’re really looking forward to partnering with Ford as we start a new chapter. Stepping in to a Mustang, we’re choosing a proven race winner, so we’re confident that together we can achieve great things,” said Todd Kelly, Team Principal, Kelly Racing.

The Ford Performance Mustang was homologated for the 2019 series through a partnership between Ford and Ford Performance, with Shell V-Power Racing and Tickford Racing, joining Mustang in NASCAR, GT4 and other global categories.

The Ford Mustang won on its Supercars debut at the Superloop Adelaide 500 in February, and has since gone on to 20 race wins – including the 2019 Supercheap Bathurst 1000. In 2020, Kelly Racing will campaign Mustang for the first time, giving Mustang fans more reasons to cheer.

“Working with Kelly Racing builds on the already fruitful partnership we have with Shell V-Power Racing and Tickford Racing,” said Mark Rushbrook, Global Director, Ford Performance Motorsports. “Kelly Racing has an impressive pedigree in terms of both engineering and their driver talent, and we see its switch to Mustang as an opportunity to combine their highly skilled outfit with Ford Performance DNA.”

The Ford Performance Kelly Racing Mustang will make its debut at the 2020 Superloop Adelaide 500, scheduled for February 20-23, 2020. Tickets ca be purchased via supercars.com.au.
