How do I set or change the SYNC software update schedule?
Some updates will require your vehicle to be turned off for a short period of time during installation. To ensure you won’t need your vehicle, we recommend scheduling updates for the best day(s) and time that work for you. Don’t worry about forgetting, you'll be notified before your scheduled time if an update is ready to install.
You can also change your schedule at any time up until two minutes before the installation starts. Once the installation starts, your vehicle cannot be driven for up to 45 minutes. If certain preconditions aren’t met, such as the vehicle being turned off, the installation process will not initiate and will retry at your next scheduled day and time.
Please refer to instructions below on how to set or change the schedule for SYNC 4 and SYNC 4A.
SYNC 4
From your SYNC screen:
- Press Settings.
- Press System Updates.
- Depending on your vehicle, this could be on the second or third page of Settings.
- Press Schedule Updates.
- If no schedule has been set, select the day(s) of the week and time that work best for you.
- Your set schedule will be recurring, so every time a non-drivable update becomes available, it will be installed at your selected day(s) and time unless changed. You’ll be notified when an update is scheduled to install, with an option to change the schedule.
- If a schedule has already been set, you can come back at any time to change it.
- Press Save.
