Using the Ford Support Site 

At Ford, we take pride in our high quality, dependable products. From time to time, we might discover a potential issue with a vehicle and will communicate the repair instructions directly to the Owner. However, if you know your 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), you can check to see what recalls your vehicle may have open at any time by entering it into the search feature on the Ford Australia Recall and Service Action page found at Ford Recall and Service Action Look Up.

Your VIN can be found on your vehicle:

  • At the base of the windscreen (seen from the outside)
  • On the vehicle build and compliance labels that can be found on the right hand (driver) side, front or rear door openings.
  • The VIN can also be found on documents such as registration papers, insurance or finance statements. 

Note: VINs are exactly 17 characters long and contain both numbers and letters. They must be an exact match. For example, the letter ‘O’ and number zero ‘0’ can sometimes be entered incorrectly, resulting in errors. Please confirm your VIN carefully before searching.

Using the FordPass App 

To locate Recalls and Field Service Actions in FordPass:

  1. Open the FordPass App.
  2. Go to the Service screen. 
  3. Select Recall.  
  4. Tap the recall notice you want to review.
  5. Select View Details on the pop-up message. 


  • The Recall tile only appears if your vehicle is involved in a recall. 
  • If you need more assistance, select the Call Dealer option.
    • This only appears if you have a Preferred Dealer set
    • Find Dealer appears if you do not have a Preferred Dealer set. 
  • If there are multiple alerts for your vehicle, they are presented in order of priority.
  • Recalls are first, then Field Service Actions, followed by Vehicle Health Alerts. 
  • You can tap any item on the list to review the specific details of the alert. 
  • Notices are separated by vehicle.
  • If you have more than one vehicle added to FordPass, only the notices specific to the selected vehicle will be displayed.
