What Is Reverse Brake Assist?

Reverse Brake Assist is a feature that is part of Ford's driver assistance technology. Reverse Brake Assist functions when in reverse ( R ) and travelling at low speeds.

It will automatically apply the brakes for a short period of time when the moving vehicle detects (using the parking sensors) is about to impact another vehicle, object or person. It will then notify the driver to take action by applying the brakes and displaying a message and warning indicator on the instrument display. Driver's can override the feature by applying the accelerator or turning off/on under settings (touchscreen).

Please note that even when using Reverse Brake Assist it is still important to pay attention to your surroundings.
