INFORMATION FOR OWNERS OF FOCUS, FIESTA AND ECOSPORT VEHICLES WITH DPS6
POWERSHIFT TRANSMISSIONS - INDEPENDENT COMPLAINTS REVIEW PROGRAM

Background

In 2017, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) initiated legal action against Ford Australia in the Federal Court in relation to customer requests for a refund or replacement of certain Ford Focus, Fiesta and EcoSport vehicles fitted with DPS6 dry-clutch PowerShift automatic transmissions.

On April 26, 2018, the Federal Court approved a joint agreement between Ford Australia and the ACCC, which includes the implementation of a consumer redress scheme relating to this issue (Independent Complaints Review Program).

You may be eligible to participate in the Independent Complaints Review Program if you:

•
owned a PowerShift Vehicle and made a request for a refund or replacement, between 1 May 2015 and 1 November 2016 either directly to Ford Australia’s Customer Relationship Centre or through a Ford Australia dealer; and

did not receive a full refund or a no cost replacement vehicle.

As part of the Independent Complaints Review Program, each eligible claim will be assessed to determine whether a full refund or no cost replacement vehicle should have been provided. Ford will provide compensation to affected customers in line with the outcomes of the Independent Complaints Review Program.

The Independent Complaints Review Program will start in July 2018 and run for 12 months.  Further details about the program will be available closer to that date.
