  • Power-operated left-hand side loading door offers convenience and ease for passengers
  • Optional High Roof feature includes overhead luggage storage area and LED reading lamps
  • Transit Bus features the latest technology including FordPass Connect, smartphone integration, Apple CarPlay™ & Android Auto™, an 8-inch colour touchscreen and reverse camera, and front and rear parking sensors.

MELBOURNE, 05 March, 2021 – Ford Australia has added the 12-seater Ford Transit Bus to the popular Transit line-up.

The much-anticipated return of the bus offers all the well-loved features of Ford’s range of Transit commercial vehicles, in a 410L, 12-seater, rear wheel drive (RWD) variant that comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission as standard. The Ford Transit Bus – and every Transit – also comes with AEB with Pedestrian Detection as standard as part of a comprehensive Driver Assist Technology suite that brings greater practicality and convenience.

Powering the Ford Transit Bus is the 2.0L EcoBlue engine, which develops 125kW of power and 390Nm of torque.

“We know our customers have always loved the Transit Bus, but there’s been a strong demand for it to come with an automatic transmission. We can now deliver on that wish and help groups of Aussies travel in comfort and style, whether that be sports teams off to their big game, a shuttle to the airport, or colleagues heading to a conference,” said Andrew Birkic, President and CEO, Ford Australia and New Zealand.

The advanced safety features of the Transit Bus help to offer peace of mind, and the innovative tech of FordPass Connecti unlocks a range of services including remote start and stop, so drivers can start their vehicle’s engine with a simple tap of their smartphone in order to heat or cool the cabin before they set off with their group.

A comfortable ride
Passenger access to the nine rear seats is designed for a comfortable entry and exit and can be done conveniently with the power-operated left-hand side loading door, which is driver-operated from the key fob or a switch on the dashboard. For those travelling on longer trips, or requiring more space, the Transit Bus is available with an optional higher roof, which offers overhead storage and LED reading lights for passengers.

Advanced Driver Assist Technology for a safer journey
When you’re travelling with groups, safety is the highest priority. Transit Bus is packed with advanced driver assistance technology to help ensure safe journeys, including AEB with Pedestrian Detection. Other key features and standard DAT equipment in the Transit Bus includes:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Rear-Cross Traffic Alert

  • Lane Departure Warning with Driver Alert
  • Traffic Sign Recognition
  • Automatic High-beam
  • Automatic headlamps
  • Automatic front windscreen wipers
  • Heated windscreen
  • Programmable MyKey

Transit’s advanced new-generation powertrain is now Euro 6.2 compliant and standard across the range. Delivering 125kW at 3,500 rpm and 390Nm of torque at 1,600-2,300 rpm, it features high-pressure direct fuel injection, an advanced aluminium cylinder head, high-performance variable geometry turbo as well as auto stop-start for maximum efficiency and lower running costs. Critical for business operators, the Transit Bus also has 30,000km/12-month service intervals.

On-board technology
Transit Bus benefits from a full-colour 8.0-inch touchscreen operating Ford’s latest SYNC 3ii infotainment system. It also gives access to FordPass Connect, which offers convenient ‘connected car’ technology, pairing with the available FordPass App to simplify customers’ ownership experience and unlock a range of new services including Remote Start and Stop, Remote Lock and Unlock, Live Traffic Updates, Location Services, Vehicle Status and Health Alerts.

Transit Bus drivers can also keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road by using SYNC 3’s voice-activated features, including optional voice-activated sat-nav as well as standard Apple CarPlayiii and Android Autoiii smartphone compatibility.
