MELBOURNE– Ford’s leading automotive investment in Australia is getting a fresh face for a third year running as the company confirms 23 new hires this year across Product Development, Marketing, Sales and Service and Finance skill teams.
The Ford Graduate 2017 intake will recruit designers for the first time since reintroducing the Graduate Program in 2015 to join others shaping future vehicles at the Design Centre in Broadmeadows, while others move into engineering roles across the company’s sprawling Victorian facilities including Asia Pacific Product Development Centre in Broadmeadows, Research and Development Centre in Geelong and Proving Ground in Lara.
“Ford is investing in local creative and technical talent to support our aggressive global product development investments that include key programs such as Ranger and Everest in Australia, says Graeme Whickman, President and CEO, Ford of Australia. “At the same time, we continue building the team leading our local transformation plan, including the launch of 20 new or freshened vehicles by 2020.”
“Our comprehensive two-year graduate development program is designed to build a graduate’s capability to prepare them for an exciting career with Ford whilst providing real and rewarding experiences. The program uses best practice blended learning techniques to maximise professional and personal development.”
Ford’s National Sales Company team has expanded its recruiting reach and desirability with its office in Richmond that recently celebrated its one year anniversary. The group is at a pivotal phase of accelerating a brand transformation plan delivering steady sales progress and big milestones such as Ranger and Mustang.
“Ford Graduates in Australia will play a significant role in shaping the future of the automotive industry globally, working right here in Australia,” says Dave French, Director, Vehicle Programs, Australia Product Development Centre. “The Ranger and all-new Everest SUV are centerpieces of our investment in people and facilities, and a key product in our Australia lineup. And because we are part of Ford’s global team we work locally to create great vehicles for markets all over the world.”
“The 2017 Ford Australia Graduate Program provides graduates with the ideal foundation to build an exceptional career, working with cutting-edge technologies, exposure to a broad portfolio of exciting product programs and first-hand experience working with Ford team members globally.”
“We believe we have a real advantage investing this heavily in Australia because the country has rich talent and one of the leading educational systems in the world,” said French. “And we also partner with researchers at some of our top universities to explore new innovations for vehicles of tomorrow.”
“As we continue to Go Further in this very dynamic and competitive industry, we need to continue to inject talent and innovation into every area of our business.”
The Graduate Program is just one element of Ford’s ongoing collaboration with tertiary institutions, as part of a commitment to developing a world-class system of external alliances, programs and practices in Australia and Asia.
